Our pods in the North Coast of Scotland

Our pods are situated next to our family's home farm of Sibmister. This is an idyllic location in the countryside between the town of Thurso (4miles) and the historic village of Castletown (2.5 miles). How to find us? . The pods have been built into the hillside affording a stunning view over the Pentland Firth and Orkney Isles, the perfect spot to truly relax and unwind. Take advantage of the long light Caithness Summer nights or stargaze in the dark, breathe in the fresh air and melt into that view.  

Here at Braeside Retreats, we are offering truly bespoke accommodation. Hand crafted by local tradesmen just a mile from the site, our pods are far more spacious than your average camping pod! Each is fully equipped to ensure true comfort and luxury to our guests. Relax into our kingsize beds and comfy sofas, unwind in your private hot tub and take in the view whist you sip a glass of wine on your private terrace. Have a BBQ at your pod's private Caithness Stone BBQ area or entertain the whole family by walking down to the Braeside Retreats play area, complete with large trampoline, swings, slide and sandpit! Ideal for little ones and big kids at heart. Or why not take a stroll down to the communal fire pit area where you can build a fire in the evening and toast marshmallows!

All of our pods are pet friendly and we would love to welcome your four-legged friends.  Please take a look at our Pets Policy before you book.  As animal lovers on a working farm, we felt it only fair to include the animals when we were designing the pods. All the pods at Braeside Retreats will provide the same stunning views, amenities and are all finished to the same high standard BUT each pod has its own very special, individual identity – which one will you choose? On arrival at your pod, you will find tea, coffee and sugar with some yummy local bakers biscuits to get your holiday off to a great start. The pods have some handy extra touches you may not have considered, such as an outside washing line for getting the towels dried after the hot tub, a hairdryer stored in the bathroom cabinet and a little iron and ironing board if you want to get glammed up for a smart dinner or night out. There is also a basic cleaning kit to include dustpan and brush, washing liquid, scrubbing brush and sponge, plus a dishtowel and bin bags to start you off. All towels and bed linen are provided, including extra linen for the sofa bed should you wish to use it.
